Cool Things That I Am Doing
As I had mentioned, you can watch over my shoulders as I work on making this a cool site for a cool guy. Here is what I have done to get this off the ground:
1. I used a blog to get a headstart. This took away a lot of designing time and also allows me to add new pages quickly and easily. While Wordpress is a good choice for this (also FREE), I used Semiologic that comes bundled with several SEO enhancements and other plugins bundled, while retaining the Wordpress engine.
2. I setup a link from one of my high Pagerank web sites so that Google and other search engines can take note of this site and spider it quickly.
3. I activated the Google sitemap plugin and pinged Google, so that they take notice of this site.
And now the part that matters most to you –
4. I activated the Dofollow plugin. This means that when you post a comment on this blog, you can get a little link juice back to your site. Of course, spammers are not welcome. I have plugins to shoo away the spambots and manually moderate the comments, so please leave a meaningful comment or a nice cheer for me so that I get tempted to approve your comment.
How's that about a Win-Win deal? You have to click on the comments link at the end of this post to post a comment - if you cheer me, we can win this game.

Arun is a great guy to work with. We have been working with him for over two years now and have seen amazing results. He helps us with several of our sites on consumer products.
His blog setup service is very good at http://www.rentablogger.com - we have been very happy with this. It gives us time to focus on our business while Arun does the tech work. Arun definitely comes up with cool things and new ideas!

I am glad to hear that Semiologic is working for you. I am considering adding this or some other type attribute to one of my blog's so I'll be back to see how this is working for you.
I am a "do follow" blogger too — best wishes with your blogging.
